Rugged Rocks consists of six self-catering cottages nestled amid Milkwood trees and indigenous bush on a ten acre property. The property extends from the beach inland and once formed part of the greater Freshwater Farm. It’s charm lies in the tranquillity of the surrounding area, which is home to a variety of buck, monkeys and other small animals. Excellent fishing, endless beaches and enchanting rock pools together with the nearby golf course and town facilities make this an ideal holiday venue for the whole family. Monkey Hut: Accommodates 6, The highest of the cottages, Monkey Hut is an elevated wooden chalet with beautiful views of the sea and coast. There are three bedrooms, one bathroom en-suite and a separate shower/toilet. A spacious lounge and open-plan kitchen lead onto a large wooden deck. Plenty of adjacent parking with a flight of wooden stairs to the entrance. Lock-up parking available. Braai facilities on the seaward side. TV included. Distance to the beach is 120 metres. Sand Castle: Accommodates 6, This is a brick cottage set amongst trees with a spacious front lawn and braai area. There are three bedrooms with an open plan kitchen and a large lounge area. Beautiful sunsets make up for the lack of a sea view. Parking is close by and the surroundings are one level, with just a a few steps. TV included. Distance to the beach is 80 metres. Dune Den: Accommodates 4, This is one of a pair of elevated wooden chalets situated adjacent to each other with a common lawn and braai area between them. The chalet is nestled amongst indigenous dune bush and comprises two bedrooms with an open plan kitchen and lounge. The main bedroom and lounge lead through French doors onto a sun-deck with charming views of the sea and coastline. Parking is below or behind the cottage, with access via a few steps. TV included. Distance to the beach is 40 metres. Coral Cabin: Accommodates 4, The second of two elevated wooden chalets, it is situated adjacent to Dune Den with a common lawn and braai area between them. It comprises two bedrooms and an open plan kitchen/lounge. The main bedroom and lounge lead through French doors onto a sun-deck with charming views of the sea and coastline. Parking is below or behind the cottage, with access via a few steps. TV included. Distance to the beach is 40 metres. Crab Cottage: Accommodates 6, Situated closest to the sea, Crab cottage is nestled amongst indigenous trees behind the dunes and is sheltered from most wind. It is constructed of brick and comprises three bedrooms with an open-plan kitchen and a lounge leading onto a paved patio with enclosed braai area and shaded lapa. An additional shaded area under Milkwood trees provides privacy and coolness in summer. Parking is available at the front door and there are no steps to climb. Distance to the beach is 20 metres. Bushbuck Bungalow: Accommodates 6, A rustic fisherman's cottage set amongst trees with a spacious lawn area for recreation, and a secluded and shady area under adjacent Milkwood trees. There are three compact interleading bedrooms, one of which has it’s own exterior entrance. Small lounge, separate kitchen leading onto a covered and private patio. Ample parking in front of the cottage. No sea view, but sheltered from most wind. Distance to the beach is 100 metres. Forest House: Accommodates 12, Perched on a ridge, the front of this house has magnificent views of the entire coastline. The back patio looks over virgin bush and trees, teeming with birds and small animal life. There are four bedrooms and a large lounge area with an adjacent enclosed playroom. Plenty of secluded space amongst the trees for the ultimate in tranquillity and closeness to nature. The five acre property has totally secluded and peaceful clearings for the nature enthusiast. It’s surroundings make it also suitable for small training courses and conferences. TV included. Distance to the beach is 300 metres. |
