Cottage,Taupahi Road, Turangi. Set in half an acre of trees and woodland on the North Island, the garden attracts many species of birds and their song mingles with the murmur of the Tongariro River. Direct access to the river walkway by way of the garden gate and to fine fishing pools. 4 mins by car to an excellent golf course. 10 mins drive to the Tokaanu Hot Pools and half an hour to the mountains and the famous Tongariro Crossing. Our home and garden is adjacent but allows the cottage every privacy. In the centre of the North island is a volcanic plateau, from where the famous trout fishing river the Tongariro flows into Lake Taupo from the mountains. Fishing guides can be arranged and breakfasts are available on request or can be provisioned to the cottage – both are extra to the bed tariff.
The township is just minutes walk away which has a supermarket, butcher, pharmacy, bookshop, bus depot, sports shops etc and several restaurants are situated within easy drive or walk. The cottage has been variously described as a “home from home”, “wonderful retreat”, ‘top-notch bach’. It was once our holiday home, so come and enjoy it yourself. |
