The little Istrian town of Lovran is located in an ambience characterized by the blue of the sea and the green slopes of Mt Učka. Until the 19th century, it was a city renowned for its maritime past and a picturesque medieval centre. At the beginning of the 20th century, it turned into a fashionable place and winter resort for the Austro-Hungarian gentry. The name Lovran derives from the word lovor, or laurel, whose freshness gives the place a particular charm. The Romans decked their heroes and gods with laurel, and according to one legend, Lovran was created when the Roman patrician and statesman Marcus Agrippa, in the first century AD, built his summer residence on the site of today's Lovran town. Agrippa had the whole world to choose from, yet he picked Lovran. And there is no wonder why. In the next twenty centuries, people from all over the world came and returned to Lovran, enthralled by the marvelous combination of sea and mountain, cityscape and landscape, past and present.

You can visit the historic old-town of Lovran or entertain your selves in various shops, café’s, open market-place, bakeries, restaurants and sport possibilities. Traditional manifestations that draw numerous visitors to Lovran, pointing out its connection with the rich, fruitful surrounding nature are “Wild Asparagus days” in the spring, “Cherry festival” in the summer and “Chestnut festivity” locally known as Marunada in the fall.

Green residence is situated in the first floor of one of 100-years old villas of Lovran, Villa San Giovanni, lying by the sea. It opens to the sea by the direct access to the beach and 12 km long seaside promenade “Lungomare”. The luxurious apartment consists of a kitchen (with the dining area), a living room, 2 bedrooms (one with matrimonial bed, the other with twin beds), 2 bathrooms (one with toilet, one just a shower without it) and a small, seaside balcony. Residence is decorated with beautiful stylish furniture and additionally ornamented with details of renewed Venetian “murrano” glass and green silk on the walls.

Technical equipment of the residence includes: mobile air-conditioning, telephone, TV, video recorder, HI FI components (CD-player, tuner and tape recorder), and a dishwasher. Private parking area is by the residence. Due to the silk on the walls, house-pets are not allowed. Check-in and check-out for the residences are made at the Hotel Villa Astra.
