The living room has CD-ROM and tape cassette player and TV-VCR, also downstairs is an air conditioned bedroom with bathroom. There are 2 further bedrooms upstairs, and the property comfortably sleeps six people. The primary source of power is a state-of-the-art solar power system but there is a back up generator. Located on a secluded two-acre wooded lot, it makes the perfect getaway cottage featuring one of the only rental properties in the Bahamas with a private tennis court, a private dock and a private beach! If your are looking for a place to unwind with family and/or friends and enjoy a multitude of recreational activities, including world class deep-sea and bone fishing, tennis, windsurfing, snorkelling, sea kayaking and diving - all in an unspoiled tropical environment - Bahama Backroads is the place. If you are looking for pulsating nightlife, this is definitely not for you. But if you want a tranquil place where you can kick your feet up and find refuge from the woes of the world, look no further.

For many visitors there is no more simple way to relax that to take the lounge chairs to the dock, put up the umbrella and read a book. When the sun gets too hot just jump in the crystal clear water surrounded by a beautiful cove and have a swim. For the more active, the house features a newly resurfaced private tennis court as well as a basketball court. When you finish the ball games, there is world-class deep sea fishing, including fertile grounds for mahi-mahi, tuna and assorted sailfish, compliments great diving, snorkeling and wind surfing opportunities on offer from the front door. Walk out the back door and not only is some of the best bone fishing in the world but there are sea kayaking options galore. There are secluded beaches where you can relax, read and while the day away. To cap off your afternoon, a screened porch, including splendid sunset view, is the perfect place for cocktails. If all this is a little too much, just wander down to the small village of Cherokee, located five miles from the Club Kirwin cottage, where life revolves around the sea. The open-aired pub on the beach offers the best grouper and dolphin sandwiches in the islands.

Bahama Backroads is easily accessed from south Florida and beyond. Located 30 miles from Marsh Harbor, where U.S Airways, American Airlines, Continental Airlines and Bahamas Air have daily connections. Also, Air Sunshine (954) 434 8900, Air Florida (954) 467 1979 and Island Express (954) 359 0380 have two or three flights a day to Marsh Harbour from Fort Lauderdale.

Rental cars are available in Marsh Harbor. Try Sea Star Rentals first as it offers the best cars at the best prices and they will pick you up at the airport (242) 367-4887. Also: A&P Auto Rentals at (242) 367-2655. Otherwise, for those with adequate boating experience, the best way to spend your vacation at Bahama Backroads is to hire a boat in Marsh Harbor and make the hour-long trip down through the sparkling blue waters and barrier islands
