Facilities include many restaurants, mini-golf, horse-riding and cycling, tennis, sailing, swimming, boat-tours, outdoor band concerts, local musical evenings, a museum, salt-mine visits, medieval frescoes in churches and marked walks up the mountains or around the lakes.

A visit to Hallstatt, the most beautiful village in Europe (8 miles by train) is a must; or go up the Dachstein by cable-car and see the glacier and the prehistoric caves. Buy "semmeln" (fresh-baked rolls) for breakfast.
