Situated
in the beautiful traditional fishing village of Burgau, just
15 minutes west of Lagos and 15 minutes east
of Sagres, this modern, fully equipped apartment is ideally
positioned for exploring this beautiful region. With a resident population
of 2,500, Burgau is one of the last villages on the Algarve to retain its
true Portuguese atmosphere, with people returning year after year to enjoy
the warm and friendly welcome offered, which makes Burgau a perfect
holiday destination for families and couples. There
is plenty to do nearby, with activities including tennis, horse
riding, mountain bike hire, golf, diving, walking, bowling, archery, and a
gym health and beauty spa at the famous Parque da Floresta Golf and
Leisure Resort (where instruction can be arranged for all of the above).
Other activities include fishing, windsurfing and many other water sports.
You can use the swimming pool at the
Burgau sports centre, which is also close by, and runs a varied programme
including plenty of children's activities. Other facilities include
tennis and squash.
There are many
safe beaches along the south coast, but if you really want to get
away from it all, 15 minutes west you can find many wild and rugged
beaches along the "Costa Vincent" coast line. Burgau has plenty
of nice restaurants and bars to enjoy with a friendly relaxed atmosphere,
but for a more lively nightlife, Lagos is close by. Although car
hire is not essential, there are many places to see in the area which
would be easier with your own transport. The nearest airport is Faro,
which is 1hour 15 minutes away.
The Apartment: has sea
views and is close to all local amenities, and the beach is 100 metres
away, where it is safe to swim or enjoy a pleasant meal at the beach
bar. If offers 3 bedrooms, 1 double and two twins, and 2 separate
wc's, one with shower unit and the other with wash basin. There is an open
plan lounge with satellite TV, and a fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob,
fridge / freezer and washing machine. At the front of the apartment there
is a small sun terrace and above, a larger one.
