Casa Branquinha is 45 minutes
drive from Faro airport, 15 minutes from Albufeira, and 10 minutes
from the beach. Although simply furnished, the villa is well
equipped and private. There is an automatic washing machine,
satellite TV and wood burning stove for winter comfort. Maid service
is provided and the villa is part of a private development with
access to two swimming pools and a tennis court.
Quinta da Saudade is a well
established, British run, development. Set in lovely grounds with
colourful gardens, it has been a select holiday destination, in both
Winter and Summer, for 30 years. There is a friendly environment
where families can meet each other and enjoy themselves around the
pools and in the bar and restaurant. Just below, looking over the
roof of the pool bar, is the lower pool, where children can play to
their hearts' content.
The upper pool, is just above
the villa and is an ideal place to relax and sunbathe. For the
energetic, there is also a tennis court. Close to the development,
there are several attractive walks, and there is a wetlands nature
reserve with a wealth of bird and plant life not commonly found in
the UK. The local beach, has a car park and café and there are
pleasant walks along the coastline, with the option of popping down
to the local beach-bar for refreshment, when needed. The local 18
hole golf course is only 10 minutes drive from the villa. Next to
the course is a wetland area which is a birdwatcher's paradise.
Archaeological sites abound, and there are many old churches and
castles to explore.
Youngsters will enjoy a trip to the local zoomarine and
waterslide, and the local pottery, Porches, is also well worth a
visit.
Bookings are on a weekly basis
from Saturday to Saturday but, if your holiday has to start on
specific days, please let us know - we can be flexible, particularly
in the Winter. During the Winter there are discounts of 20% for
stays over 2 weeks, 35% for stays over 4 weeks and 40% for stays
over 6 weeks. In the Winter, however, you pay for electricity by the
meter and firewood at cost.
