Leapfield House and
Leapfield Lodge are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty,
just 2 km from Feakle village which is famous for its traditional
music, pubs and annual festivals. It's within an hours drive of
Shannon Airport, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, The Burren, Aillwee
Caves, Cliffs of Moher, Limerick and Galway cities and many sandy
beaches. Take a day-trip to Killarney, Tralee, Cork, Dublin, Connemara
or the Aran Islands. Feakle is centrally situated in the heart of the
East Clare Lakelands with over 40 Lakes which provide excellent
fishing. Opportunities abound for bird watching, walking on mapped
routes or pony trekking. Also available locally is a first class golf
course, pitch and putt course and equestrian centre. Killaloe and
Lough Derg with its many water sports is within 15 mins drive.
Leapfield House: This
historic, listed 18th century two storey stone farmhouse has been
tastefully restored to provide the highest standard of comfort while
retaining many of its original features such as the stone fireplace
and hand carved hall ceiling. It is set in mature grounds surrounded
by broadleaf trees giving maximum privacy. There is a delightful water
garden, through which runs a stream creating a sense of peace and
tranquillity. Ideal for a relaxing vacation. On the ground floor is a
spacious open plan living room/dining room, and the full fitted
kitchen includes electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and
microwave. There is a utility room with washing machine and dryer.
Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom plus separate electric
shower, WC & basin. On the first floor are 3 further bedrooms - 1
double, 1 twin, 1 single each with basin, and a bathroom with bath, WC
and basin.
The following facilities can be found at the house: Oil fired central
heating throughout, colour TV, radio, ironing facilities, garden
furniture and barbecue, private garden and parking.
Leapfield Lodge:
is equally charming, built in
1884 and recently restored to the same high standard, offering 3
bedrooms. The properties share a courtyard, it is like stepping
back in time as you experience a feeling of old world character and
charm. The ground floor is split level with open plan kitchen / dining
/ living area and one twin bedroom. The antique pine kitchen is fully
equipped with electric cooker, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher,
fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and adequate crockery, cutlery and
cooking utensils. The old fashioned fire place in the living area has
a cast iron gas stove giving instant heat at the touch of a button yet
blending comfortably with its surroundings. The first floor is accessed
by a circular ornamentally designed wrought iron stairs with wooden
steps opening on to a large landing. It has two spacious bedrooms, one
double en-suite, the other with twin beds. There is also a separate
shower room with WC. Leading from this floor is a spacious
conservatory/lounge area with panoramic views of the surrounding
countryside which opens on to a private patio and garden running down
to a stream.
