The Gate Lodge is a luxury retreat for one or two people, it is cottage style and at the entrance to a small Georgian farmhouse. Situated between Athboy and Kells on a quiet country road, it enjoys a mature parkland setting, with its' own private garden and stream. Just one hour from Dublin airport, and one and a half hours north west of Dublin. For garden lovers, the lodge is between 10 and 30 minutes from the great gardens of Meath. Fishing, golf and horse riding, lovely walks, and the great archaeological sites of Newgrange and Trim are also nearby.

The Accommodation: The entrance hall / kitchen is decorated with pretty French wall paper and old pine furniture. It is fully equipped with Neff electric hob, microwave, fridge, etc. The sitting room is comfortably furnished and well stocked with good books and magazines, and has an open fire. There are lovely country views from all windows, and French doors open on to the terrace and garden. TV. reception is poor, so there is no TV. but there is a small radio. The bedroom has a double bed with an electric blanket, a desk with telephone, hairdryer, ample storage and good reading lights. The en-suite shower room has a power shower, heated towel rail, shaver point and wall heater.
